The Humour are a band who really have it going for
them, they have a really good looking band logo
with a little monster acted as the o in the bands
name, their t-shirt designs are pretty outstanding
and have “buy me” written all over them
and their EP cover for 'The Humour EP' is fantastic
with a crazy robot destroying a town and this is
my opinion before even checking out the bands music,
but rest assured the music is on top form as everything
else this band have created.
Think Audioslave, think Slaves To Gravity, think
big fuck off meaty riffs, think melody, think
foot stomping, mix it all together and you will
have a clearer idea of what The Humour are like.
The EP opens with 'Momentary Moment' the song
opens with huge sounding guitar riffs and before
you know it frontman James Taylor shouts "1,2,3,4"
and the song really blasts off into life, the
song is really rocking and the guitars are certainly
turned up to the top notch, the band are loud,
not in a really heavy Slayer style but in a more
feel good solid rock style, if this song doesn’t
get you wanting to jump across your room then
nothing will.
'Mr Rockefeller' starts off with some killer
guitar riffs, the vocals are really clear, upbeat,
catchy and rocking, 'Mr Rockefeller' is such a
huge song and the main highlight from the bands
EP.
The EP finishes with 'Your Robot Dance Is In
Time' a song that starts off with some strange
electro sounds, the vocals starts off quite laid
back but before you know it the song goes spastic
with the instruments turned up a few notches in
sound and the vocals having a really fast catchy
vibe which is bound to leave you stomping your
feet to the sound.
Everything about The Humour's sound stands out,
frontman James Taylor's vocals are right in your
face being really loud but clear, Matt Bagley's
guitar work is extremely loud, quite technical
and has the sound of a rock god, Daniel Fahy's
drums are constant, loud and the work of a very
promising drummer, Luke Richards bass lines are
quite bouncy in places and really adds to the
bands extremely catchy rocking sound.
The Humour have already supported bands such
as The Used, Fightstar, Gallows, Kids In Glass
Houses and The Blackout, and with a release as
good as huge sounding as this, it wont be long
before The Humour become as well established as
the bands they have supported and if this does
not happen then there is seriously something wrong
with the music industry.
5/5
