The Arusha Accord are a six-piece band who have
a really huge sound, the band are clearly influenced
by the likes of Sikth, Dillinger Escape Plan and
many other bands in the hardcore scene. Their music
is fast and furious, it’s extremely loud and
is quite complex with a lot going on during each
and every track on their new 5 track EP 'Nightmares
Of The Ocean'.
It’s clear to see that The Arusha Accord
are a bit different from your average hardcore
band, they make a lot of noise just like every
other hardcore band but there is something special
about the overall sound and feel about this bands
sound and that’s because they are an experimental
hardcore band, their sounds twist and turn throughout
each song, the riffs are fast and thick but no
two riffs sound the same, The Arusha Accord are
technically very talented musicians.
The EP starts off with 'The New Face Of Revenge'
the song blasts straight into hardcore territories
with its banging drum beats and meaty guitar riffs,
the dual vocals from Alex and Paul Green come
across extremely well, both vocalists have quite
similar vocal styles but not once do they clash
and sound out of place, they both scream their
lungs out and there are a few chilled out moments
where the vocals come a bit more sing along for
a few moments before exploding into brutalness
again.
There is a lot to offer on 'Nightmares Of The
Ocean', there may only be 5 tracks but the band
have managed to cram so much into the EP, the
instrumental track 'Solstice' is stunning, it’s
quite laid back and features a variety of soundscapes
and before you know it the band have blasted into
the EP title track 'Nightmares Of The Ocean' whilst
you are left thinking this is 'Solstice' at its
peak due to the quick change over.
It’s good to see bands in the hardcore
scene trying to do things a bit different, as
to be honest most bands in the scene sound quite
similar and never bring anything new to the scene,
The Arusha Accord are a rare band, a band who
like to experiment, their EP is technically amazing,
and it will be good to see how a full length album
by this band comes across in the future.
3.5/5
