A four piece from Brixton, The Thirst are a new
weapon in the arsenal of British Music. A pacey
tremolo intro leads into the first verse, which
is ridiculously rhythmic. It's actually impossible
not to twitch or click of anything similar, and
if you can't manage it, I'd go to see a doctor.
To look at the group, you'd never guess this
was the kind of music they'd create. I was expecting
some dirty garage or gangsta beeeatzz but I've
been pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly surprised.
There's a real swingy feel to this primarily
indie track, and there isn't a note wrong. Very
tight, very good, very impressive. Falling short
of three minutes, it leaves you begging for me,
and unfortunately the "David E Sugars Morning
Jim Remix" can't quite quench the thirst
for The Thirst. It's a good remix and everything,
but it completely destroys the swing feel that
makes the track so excellent.
Apparently they got their record deal on the
spot and were the first to be signed to Wooden
Records. I'm very interested in listening to more
material, these guys have potential, and from
what I've heard, wow, really something.
5/5
