A jittery electronic intro is soon met with hard-hitting
power chords, and the vocal line soon joins in.
It's actually very good. Despite the strange screeching
sequence in the background, this is a fantastic
alternative rock number. (I don't mean the electro
thing detracts from it being fantastic, I mean it
detracts from it being alternative rock.)
It's all pretty straight-forward, but it works
perfectly. Simple chord progressions and a strong
vocal that carries the track from start to finish.
Not to mention, top marks for incorporating the
word "oozes" into the lyrics. That is
a beautiful word. The ending is a little brief
and corny, but besides that, top stuff.
A b-side, "Extreme," is still pretty
good, but not a touch on the a-side. It's a little
tame, and all over the place really.
4.5/5
