I'll be honest from the outset. This isn't my cup
of tea. I'm an indie/rock/acoustic fan. This is
grimy RnB, and although for the genre it's probably
incredible and will have Walkabout floors filled
for months to come, it sounds like just about any
other song I've heard on TMF or similar music channel.
The bone I have to pick with these tunes is the
backing track. The same thing from start to finish,
I'm sure a lot more could be done. As to be fair,
the vocals aren't bad and the main chorus is quite
catchy.
A few remixes are featured on the single, including
the TC & D*Minds Remix which I actually really
enjoy, mainly I think, because it reminds me of
when I was fourteen. Think of Bomfunk MC's crossed
with that irritating "Jungle is Massive"
song, and you've got it exactly.
Overall, slightly better than average. I know
I'm not a fan of the style, but an amazing song
would make anyone prick up their ears. It's got
potential though, if played to the right people,
and not me.
