With out a doubt Kids In Glass Houses were the hardest
working UK band in 2007, The band toured solidly
pretty much for the whole year and toured with some
huge bands such as 30 Seconds To Mars, Funeral For
A Friend, Manic Street Preachers, The Goo Goo Dolls,
Paramore, New Found Glory and many others, the band
have also played most big festival shows across
the UK with appearances at Reading, Leeds, Download,
Give It A Name, Full Ponty and Hyde Park Calling
festivals which is an extremely high achievement
for a band who at the time were unsigned. Kids In
Glass Houses attracted attention from many big record
labels throughout the later part of 2007 and it
was in December that the band finally signed to
Roadrunner Records.
The band are currently putting the finishing
touches to their forthcoming debut album Smart
Casual which is set for release some time in May,
however the band have just made their first release
on Roadrunner Records with the release of their
debut single 'Easy Tiger'.
'Easy Tiger' is a song that was featured on the
bands debut EP E-Pocalypse but has been re-worked,
and re-recorded and is due to appear on the bands
debut album come May. 'Easy Tiger' is a fan favourite
song at the bands shows and is a perfect single
to be released, the song is about how difficult
it is to watch people you're so close with change
and become strangers with drugs and heavy alcohol
on offer. The song is catchy from start to finish
and the instantly catchy chorus of "doo, doo, doo"
will be lodged in your head for weeks to come
after listening to this song.
British rock is currently in a very strong position
and it’s mainly due to the high quality
of bands that have been coming out of Wales in
recent years, Kids In Glass Houses are the latest
band from Wales heading for success. They are
extremely upbeat, poppy and catchy and 'Easy Tiger'
is a good teaser of what to expect from the forthcoming
album once it’s complete.
