This is the Anti-Flag's first album release since signing to a major label.
Something the band were once majorly against, and a decision that the
band have got a lot of stick for. But you cant blame a band for wanting
to get there music out to a wider audience.
The good thing is that the album sounds like classic Anti-Flag with the
same topics of the war, politics and George Bush etc something the band
doesn't seem to get bored of.
The album starts with 'I'd Tell You But...' which starts with a loud catchy
riff before the rest of the band come in. The bands new single 'The Press
Corpse' is one of the most catchiest songs on the album and is classic
Anti-Flag; clear and loud with memorable sing-a-long lyrics.
One of my favourite songs on this album is the awesome ballad 'One Trillion
Dollars'. The song is very mellow and it allows frontman Justin Sane's
vocals shine. 'State Funeral' starts off pretty slow but quickly speeds
up as the lyrics "this is the sound of a dropping bomb" come
in. The chorus is also fast but simple. 'War Sucks Let's Party!' sounds
a lot different from anything else on the album; very catchy and a song
you will find yourself jumping about to.
The album finishes with 'Depleted Uranium Is A War Crime' which is quite
a raw sounding song and a good finish to the album.
I have to admit I had to listen to this album quite a few times before
it grew on me. Overall it is a good album its what you would expect from
Anti-Flag just a little more poppier in places.
4/5
