This latest from Siouxsie is up there with her best,
led by a funky quirky guitar riff and subtle electronic
undertones, it's almost like an electro-pop Velvet
Revolver. Impressive to see that fourteen years
into her solo career (not to mention her time with
the Banshees,) she can still produce music like
this. It's not ground-breaking, it isn't the most
complex composition you'll ever come across, but
it just all works perfectly. Many artists out there
over the age of fifty with this kind of energy?
I don't think so.
For those of you who don't know Siouxsie's sound,
above the light electro-rock backing track, a
deep female vocal 'lurches' and meanders fluidly
up and down the musical scale.
Surprised to say I'm finding myself enjoying this
quite a bit actually...
