If you like classic rock then you will love Voodoo
Six, they have the perfect classic rock image and
have the sound to match their image, the band are
heavily influenced on classic British rock bands
who were taking over the scene back in the 70's
and early 80's. Voodoo Six have been around for
a few years now but due to some problems with the
bands old record label the album never fully got
released, however the band are now back with the
same album just slightly different, the album has
now been re-titled 'First Hit For Free' and has
been remixed by the legendary Canadian engineer
Mike Fraser who has worked with some big named classic
rock bands such as Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith,
Thunder and many others. Before the band release
the album in the middle of March they are putting
out a brand new single 'Faith' and we have managed
to get our hands on it for review.
'Faith' is everything you would expect from a
classic rock sounding band, the song features
dual guitar work which bring out some thunderous
riffs, the guitars are full on and some big solos
are thrown in for good measures. Frontman Henry
Rundell's vocals are something special leaving
you wanting to rock out.
Classic rock seems to be coming back, over the
past few months we have had Airbourne showing
us that classic rock is still alive and kicking,
and now we have Voodoo Six unleashing their sound.
'Faith' is a really promising track and I’m
sure it’s better experienced live than it
is on record.
3.5/5
