Back in 2002 if anyone mentioned The Strokes, The
White Stripes or The Hives to me I would instantly
switch off as the bands were all so similar yet
different at the same time and did absolutely nothing
for me, fast forward on 6 years to 2008 and The
Hives are back with a brand new single 'We Rule
The World (T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S)' and to my surprise
and liking the band have taken a slight change in
sound and for the better which I think is down to
producer Pharrel Williams.
'We Rule The World (T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S)' is one
of the tracks from The Hives’ current album
'Black And White' that has been produced by hip-hop
producer Pharrel Williams. The song is an electronic
disco song, so if you think Robots In Disguise
meets CSS mixed with The Hives well known infectious
sound then you will be close to what this song
sounds like. The song is a great anthem and will
leave you tapping your foot along from start to
finish with out you even realising.
The song is a great change in direction for The
Hives and proves that The Hives are the kings
of Swedish rock and roll.
