Korn - Hold OnKorn - Hold On

So Korn are back in the UK embarking on the a longly overdue full length UK tour and what a better way to coincide with the tour than releasing 'Hold On' as a new single from their acclaimed 'Untitled' album.

'Hold On' is a song Korn describe as a song of empowerment and the song stems from Jonathan Davis's near-fatal blood disorder back in June 2006 at the Download festival. 'Hold On' will remind people of slightly older Korn material and is the nearest you are going to get to original Korn material on the bands 'Untitled' album. The intro to the song sounds slightly like 'Got The Life' and the rhythm is quite similar to older Korn songs. The vocals build up quite fast with Jonathon Davis sounding as good as ever.

The single's cover carries on the same theme as the 'Untitled' album and lead single 'Evolution', and the video for the song happens to be one of the best videos Korn have made in a long time. Korn may seem to be slowly falling apart with the band now featuring just two of the original members but they definitely haven’t lost their creative edge and with songs still of a high quality let’s hope there are still more releases to come from Korn.

4/5
