Bullet For My Valentine have had mixed reactions
on the music scene ever since they released their
debut album 'The Poison’ with some people
claiming them to be the next big British metal act
and others claiming the band to be to soft and a
poor excuse for a metal band, but that’s the
state of the metal scene at the moment if you’re
in a band and sound like Iron Maiden your put down
for being to old skool sounding, if you are in a
band and sound like Machine Head you are put down
for sounding too raw and if you are in a band and
have a sound that’s straight down the middle
you are put down for being to poppy and not metal
enough and this is something I put down to metal
fans being too fussy and not wanting to venture
away from liking the big three Guns And Roses, Metallica
and Iron Maiden. Despite the mixed reaction Bullet
For My Valentine have got and will forever continue
to receive they have gone on and become one of the
hardest working metal bands over the last few years
touring across the world with pretty much every
metal band you can think of and playing the main
stage at most rock festivals across the world.
The bands second album 'Scream Aim Fire' is due
out really soon, with the band claiming the album
to be more metal than their debut. The lead single
to help promote the album happens to be the album
title track 'Scream Aim Fire' and happens to be
one hell of a hard hitting metal song that seems
to be heavier than anything the band have ever
done before. Matt Tuck's vocals are as clear yet
shouty as ever, drummer Moose Thomas's drum kit
takes a battering with some constant heavy drumming
and the guitar riffs are what you would expect
from Bullet For My Valentine but just more brutal
and in your face. If you like guitar solo's then
'Scream Aim Fire' will please you and surly gives
Dragonforce a run for their money.
'Scream Aim Fire' is a great come back song for
Bullet For My Valentine and should hopefully set
the pace for a what I’m hoping to be a heavy
second album once released.
4/5
