Bi-Polar Baby are a new band to me despite forming way back in 2004, the
band are a female fronted five piece band from Birmingham and are well
known on the Birmingham rock scene and are now trying to gain more success
with the release of their new single 'Suicide Girl' which will be released
on the bands own record label, Blacklustre Records.
'Suicide Girl' opens up with some constant drumming, the dual guitars
and bass come in a few seconds after and front woman Katee Dewolfe's vocals
soon come in, everything seems well in place and the highlight of the
song is the chorus with Katees whispery vocals sounding quite spooky and
haunting.
The b-side to the single is the bands name 'Bi-Polar baby' Katees vocals
start off quite uplifting with minimal backing music and then suddenly
the bass comes in with a memorable bass line and it’s not long before
the guitars fire in and everything becomes that little bit more upbeat.
There are some great guitar riffs and bass lines on offer throughout the
song and the song is catchier than the main single release which is quite
odd.
If your after fast catchy songs with beautiful sounding female vocals
mixed with breathtaking rocking guitar solo's that leave you leaping across
your room like a mad man giving you best air guitar impression then look
no further than Bi-Polar Baby as they know how to rock whilst maintaining
poppyness.
4/5
