Casino Drive are a 4 piece band from Trowbridge in Wiltshire and are a
truly outstanding band who have only been together for just 5 months which
is quite unbelievable considering the quality of the bands debut EP 'Spin
The Truth' you would of thought they have been together for a couple of
years.
'Spin The Truth' is a 3 track EP that runs for just over 11 minutes and
once the EP is over you are left wanting to hear more of Casino Drive.
The EP opens with 'Hands Tied' a song that starts off with constant stand
out drumming and a really fast catchy guitar riffs which leaves you expecting
some fast screamo vocals to soon come in but instead some laid back vocals
come in and before you know it the song fires into an extremely melodic
sing a long chorus that’s not going to leave your head in a hurry.
The EP is cracking throughout, track 2 'Smile Again' is more of a laid
back track compared to the opening track but once again the music is extremely
tight sounding and the vocals take over again especially when the backing
vocals come in every now and again adding some excitement to the track.
The band seem to have left the best till the end as the closing track
'Beautiful Lies' is the highlight of the EP, the song starts off with
fast catchy lead vocals that seem to build up and get catchier as the
song goes on until once again a mixture of vocals come in for the standout
chorus, you really need to listen to this track to realise how good it
is as words don’t do it justice at all.
To be honest when I got this EP I wasn’t expecting to much from
it as Glasstone Records seem to have so many average sounding bands on
their roster, with none of the bands managing to stand out from the crowd
but Casino Drive seem to be the rare band on the roster as they rock and
deserve to go far in the music world, I personally cant wait to hear more
from this band. The only downside is that the EP is not released until
the start of February next year, but you can still stream the bands songs
on their myspace page and I would advise you to do so as Casino Drive
could be one of the heavyweight bands in the UK music scene in the very
near future.
