I’m sure everyone has heard a song by Reverend And The Makers by
now, the bands debut album 'The State Of Things' was released back in
September and was met with a lot of praise and positive feedback. The
band have already released two singles off their debut album with the
first being the stomping anthemic 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World'
which took the charts by storm and the second being the extremely catchy
'He Said He Loved Me' which has been going around my head for weeks now.
Well the band are now ready to release their third single 'Open Your Window'.
'Open Your Window' is a lot more stripped down than the two previous single
releases and is quite boring sounding with the only saving point being
the slightly upbeat chorus with the electronic synths in the background.
The single comes with two b-sides with the first being the really toned
down yet vocally good 'Paris At Night' and the second being 'Dear Lydia'
which is quite a different sounding song for Reverend And The Makers but
it seems to work well.
It’s pretty hard for bands these days to release a classic single
after another classic single, Reverend And The Makers managed to release
two great single's in a row but sadly the third single release 'Open Your
Window' doesn’t make a hat-trick as it doesn’t live up to
the previous releases and there are far better songs on the album.
3/5
