Yee-hah. The single opens with quite a country feel, in my opinion.Bass-drum
and tambourine, guitar and deep breathy vocals. And then, the chorus arrives,
and there's a big push towards "okay let's snapout of country mode."
The distortion kicks in ad the vocals become more of a Twang-vocal, but
not Northern British accent. Another guitarshreaks and screams from behind
the main rhythm, and rattles away as the vocals call out. The b-side is
called "The Horizon," and seems tostart off with a similar feel.
Not necessarily classic country, butthe sounds of little tribes and communities
having a go at rock, you know. There's a real charm to it though, the
rustic sounds is addictive. With subtle progressive-rock licks and ambient
reverbedbursts, this second track effortlessly fades into a beautiful
outro that is the epitome of how albums should end. Just s shame this
isn'tan album and that, I feel, the b-side is better than the single. However,
for release, I can see why it's been chosen.
4/5
