Firing straight into the twisted distorted riff of "7 Pigeons,"
thealbum is off to a flying start. With a strange whining vocal similarto
that of an early Davy Havoc, the song meanders it's way through averse
to a fantasticly catchy and upbeat chorus, and you click thatyou're listening
to an awesome band. The second song starts more acoustically, and is called
"In The Fur." In the unlikely event that they actually named
themselves after this song, I wouldn't be lying if I said it made sense.
Taking the musical genius ideas of established commercial artists, and
adding quirky solos, awesome vocal melodiesand harmonies, and unbelievably
catchy chorus lines, In The Fur have hit the nail on the head.
Another key track is "Captured," sounding like one of the quietertracks
you'd expect to find on a Velvet Revolver album – sheerbrilliant.
And from then the album is flawless until the final andbrilliant track
"Smoke." The only issue I have with this album, is that the
eight tracks only spend twenty six minutes and you're left begging for
more.
In summary, awesome alternative rock music. It's not ground-breaking but
in a way that's its charm. This is the kind of thing you canlisten to
loudly and your Mum won't mind. I love it, no surprises it'sgot top marks
from me...
