Fury UK are a three piece band from Manchester, the band are made up of
Chris Appleton (guitar, vocals), Adz Galloway (drums) and Dawson (bass
and vocals), the band formed in 2003 and since that time the band have
been forever touring and released their debut album back in November 2005,
the band are now back with their second album 'Face Of Adversity' and
its just what you would expect from the band with its easy listening classic
rock feel, with some cracking guitar solo's and heavy riffs in places.
'Face Of Adversity' opens up with 'Kruger' which starts with a huge guitar
riff, the vocals soon come in giving the song a good punk vibe, the drumming
sounds slightly tinny and out of place but you soon forget that. 'Natural
Disaster' is a song about the current environmental issues in the world
which gets covered quite well lyrically with lyrics of "Money is
our master burning ever faster, I can hear the laughter, natural disaster",
vocally the song is quite interesting and catchy, the jamming towards
the middle of the song is outstanding giving the band a sound quite similar
to early Iron Maiden material.
The band aren’t all about making rocking songs as is best seen in
'Words You Say' and 'Dream Of One'. The first song is really chilled down
and is quite simple musically with only a great guitar solo picking up
the pace for a short while and the later song is a rock ballad, the song
is pretty chilled out but there are some uplifting moments and classic
guitar solo's on offer.
If you like songs with attitude that rock throughout then look no further
than 'Breakthrough' the song kicks off with rocking riffs and heavy constant
drumming, the vocals are quite chant a long sounding, and the guitar solo
towards the end of the song really puts the icing on the cake.
The album ends in an acoustic way with 'The Lost Soul' a song that is
totally lead by an acoustic guitar with minimal electronic guitar work
on offer, the vocals are quite laid back and the song is the kind of song
that’s bound to bring out the swaying arms and lighters in the air
at the bands shows.
If you like straight forward rock music that sounds as good on cd as it
does live then Fury UK are the band for you, the band have mastered the
sound of classic rock, with some huge riffs and meaningful lyrics and
have also added in a punk vibe. 'Face Of Adversity' is a strong release
and can only add to the bands success.
