In my opinion the Gallows are one of the best punk bands England have
to offer at the moment and are a band that England have been crying out
for, for many years to help save the forever sinking UK punk scene. The
bands debut album 'Orchestra Of Wolves' found itself re-released back
in the summer on major label Warner with a bonus CD full of bonus tracks.
If you are yet to get into the Gallows or feel the band are not for you,
check out their latest single 'Staring At The Rude Bois' which is the
Gallows cover version of the same name song by the legendary 1970's band
The Ruts.
The cover version of 'Staring At The Rude Bois' stays quite true to the
original version but at the same time there are extra bits such as new
lyrics written by the Gallows frontman Frank Carter, The song is more
chilled out than any of the Gallows own material and therefore the song
may appeal to more people than just the Gallows fan base, Frank's lyrics
are still quite raw and punk sounding and the guest vocals from rapper
Lethal Bizzle are quite an interesting addition to the song sounding a
lot better than what I was expecting.
Fans of The Ruts version of the song will be quite surprised at how well
the Gallows have covered the song, and pretty much everyone else who is
into punk will be impressed with the song as no matter what the Gallows
do at the moment they come up smelling of roses.
