Johnny Panic are a really hard hitting band musically and personally with
front man Rob Solly being a trained arse kicker who has been doing Tae
Kwon-Do since the age of 14 and has also dabbled in Thai Boxing, Ju Jitsu
and boxing which is enough fighting sports to please most people but not
Rob Solly as over the past 2 years he has been training and competing
in Ultimate Fighting Championship and Cage Rage which shows to me that
Rob Solly is a solid man who is not to be messed with and it’s quite
rare to see a band match their sound with a solid frontman.
The band are releasing their second album 'The Good Fight' sometime in
November, but before the album is released they are releasing a new single
'Dislocation'.
'Dislocation' is quite an up beat sounding punk song, Matt James and Rob
Solly's guitar work is quite strong and Sean Mannion's bass lines are
quite powerful and outstanding, the vocals are quite melodic. The b side
to the single is 'Time I Got Off My Knees' the song is another wonderful
melodic song that features some great guitar playing.
Johnny Panic have the right mixture of sound and have the melodic-ness
of bands such as Kids In Glass Houses and Billy Talent with the instrumental
work of InMe, it’s been a long time since the band released their
debut album and last toured but a lot has happened to the band since then
and you can clearly see that it’s helped them develop their sound
for the better.
4/5
