The Departure have been busy working with producer Ed Buller who is known
for his production duties with Suede and Pulp, the new as yet untitled
album will be released within the first few months of 2008 and is the
follow up to the bands debut album 'Dirty Words'. The band have come up
with a new single release as a taster of what to expect from their new
album, the single is called '7 Years' and will only be released as a limited
edition hand-stamped 7-inch single with only 500 copies being released.
'7 Years' is quite a rocking indie song about living in a false world,
the lyrics are well written and David Jones’ vocals sound just as
good as they did on the bands debut album, there are some huge guitar
riffs and the drumming is constant and stands out which could be something
to do with original drummer Simon Alexander returning to the band.
The band will be back bigger and better in 2008 with a new album and a
mammoth tour across the UK calling at pretty much every town and venue.
4/5
