Evita - Like An Ocean, We Rise AgainEvita - Like An Ocean, We Rise Again

Bristol based band 'Evita' are a five piece metalcore band who have been on the music scene since 2006, the band take their influences from Exit Ten, As I Lay Dying and the Black Dahlia Murder, the band have an average age of 17 years and surely do know how to play their instruments and make a noise. Evita are signed to Glasstone Records and are releasing their debut EP 'Like An Ocean, We Rise Again' in November and embarking on a tour in support of the EP release.

If you like any of the bands that this band are influenced by then you will most probably like their music as you can clearly tell they are influenced by bands such as Black Dahlia Murder and As I Lay Dying from their music. The EP opens up with 'Embrace The End' which has quite a dark introduction with some immense drum rolls and hard hitting guitar riffs but things get ruined when Aaron Beider's growly vocals come in sounding like he’s been hanging around Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon for to long. The whole EP works pretty much the same throughout, the instrumental work can’t be faulted as everything is really hard hitting, heavy and in place but I really can’t get to grips with Aaron's vocals.

Evita are not a band I would go out of my way to listen to again, in fact I can’t see myself ever listening to this band again, don’t get me wrong they surely know how to play their instruments and sound like a tight solid band but the vocals really ruin it for me.

2/5
