Blast Stereos Loud are a band who started off well back in 2001 but it
was a long time coming until the bands final line-up was completed in
2005, since then the band have been touring as much as possible clocking
up an impressive fan base whilst sharing the stage with the likes of The
Blackout, Kids In Glass Houses and Useless ID. By looking at the bands
Blast Stereos Loud have toured with you would expect their music to be
quite melodic which it is but it also has a crunching post-hardcore sound
with some extremely tight and hard hitting guitar work.
The band have finally got around to putting their debut EP together, it’s
a 4 track EP called 'Burn' and it’s not bad at all. The EP starts
off with the title track 'Burn' which is full of choppy guitar work and
the drumming stands out a lot as well, the vocals are quite aggressive
sounding with some shouty backing vocals. 'Long Time Dead' is more of
an upbeat melodic sounding song with catchy hooks and a more upbeat sing
a long chorus. 'A Hollywood Ending' is a pretty average song that offers
nothing new but by no means is it a bad song.
The EP closes with ''Leave Tonight Behind', the song features some great
guitar riffs and stand out catchy vocals that are really in your face
finishing the EP well.
The sound Blast Stereos Loud have is nothing new and reminds me of early
Funeral For A Freind and The Blackout in places which is a good way to
start and if Blast Stereos Loud continue to progress their sound they
could be in the music scene for some time.
3/5
