Boy Kill Boy are all part of the indie revolution. A mixture of bands
like The Bravery and Editors, with strange and unfortunate likeliness
to those of Panic! At The Disco, and Fall Out Boy. I cannot put my finger
on why exactly, but there is something definitely about it. Maybe it's
just that you could easily imagine one of those latter bands releasing
this as their own.
It's an upbeat song though, with a memorable chorus, and an overall good
sound. There's a synth floating around in the background, along with the
usual suspects; clean guitar and a voice that doesn't boast oodles of
interest as such. It's not out of tune, but it's not one to excite you.
Despite me casting this shadow over the work of Boy Kill Boy, it really
isn't bad at all, hence it's rating of four stars. It's just that, despite
being good, it sounds like everything the last year has thrown out in
terms of indie music, all combined.
4/5
