Single

Following the hugely popular single “No Tomorrow,” Orson are
here once more with a new song, the title track of their album; Bright
Idea.
Fans of the previous single, brimming with indiness, may be divided over
the new addition to Orson's venture into the world of music.
It isn't as indie for starters, and has the qualities of a far more generic
alternative rock track. Yet still, the similarities are clear between
both tracks. Perhaps it's just the same guitar sounds and use of “twinkly
instruments,” for lack of a better phrase.
But hold your horses! It's not all doom and gloom. The song is well written,
and the chorus is definitely catchy. It's a good song in all fairness,
and you can't criticise a band for using some things twice, if it's part
of a formula that has seemingly gone down a treat in earlier usage.
Orson to me, seem like a breath of fresh air from all the bands that are
popping up and sounding like each other, and I'm hoping that their success
continues beyond this early stage. Most definitely a band to keep your
eyes on.
4/5
