Tarja Turunen has enjoyed success as the lead singer of multi-million-selling
Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish since she joined the band in 1996
and until she left the band towards the end of 2005 due to the rest of
Nightwish asking Tarja to leave the band in an open letter, which isn’t
the best of ways to deal with an in band dispute and sack your singer.
Being kicked out of Nightwish has done Tarja some good as she has now
had time to work on her own solo album 'My Winter' which is due for release
towards the end of November on Spinefarm Records.
The lead single release and main track to lead up to the release of Tarja's
solo album is 'I Walk Alone', the song is inspired by Mozart's Requiem
and has such a good combined sound of classical music and rock music.
In 'I Walk Alone' Tarja's vocals simply sound stunning and the overall
song has a movie feel about it and wouldn’t be to far out of place
being played in a Tim Burton movie.
Nightwish fans are bound to love 'I Walk Alone' and are probably counting
down the days until Tarja's new album 'My Winter Storm' is released. Tarja
is a talented musician whose vocals are simply breathtaking.
