Foo Fighters are back on the music scene and will release a new album
'Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace' towards the end of September. Every
time the Foo Fighters come back on the scene with a new album, the first
single to be released from the new album is always an outstanding track
and 'The Pretender' follows the same routine.
'The Pretender' is an energetic, rocking chant a long song with Grohls
trademark vocals forever changing from soft to loud throughout the course
of the song. Taylor Hawkings drumming is proper in your face or should
I say in your ear with constant heavy beats that really stand out. The
chorus is as catchy, yet heavy as you would expect from a Foo Fighters
song.
It’s another great return from the Foo Fighters with yet another
solid song. Let’s just hope the bands forthcoming sixth studio album,
'Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace' features more songs of this quality
as with most Foo Fighters albums, the singles are outstanding and the
rest of the album tends to be pretty average with the exception of 'The
Colour And The Shape'.
4/5
