I must admit, I’d never heard of UXL before, the first thought upon
picking up the CD was wow, what a terrible band name. That aside, the
single is likeable, 18 year old singer John Tierney’s vocals are
insanely well rounded, the guitars are layered and excellently arranged
UXL have a good sound, almost Creed-like, which means bordering on the
middle of the road but acceptable nonetheless. The band have a bright
future if this single is anything to go by, it might not be the fashion
of the moment to be bashing out stadium-filling anthems like this one,
but it works.
