Here we have 'Takota' a band up of experienced rock stars. The band got
together when vocalist Grant Arnow's old band Spindle split up; he moved
back to his long-estranged home of Orange County where he met gutarist
Andy Lara, bass player Danny Roddy, guitarist Brett Anderson and drummer
Justin Ferreria who was a recent refugee of Reel Big Fish and Longfellow.
The five piece realised they all shared the same goal and wanted to be
the biggest band in the world.
And here is their debut album 'The Ivory Tower' which is produced by
and features Atreyu drummer/Vocalist Brandon Saller. The opening track
'The Ivory Tower' which is also the title track to the album starts off
with a short intro' of guitars, bass and drums which instantly make you
think this is an emo record until Grant Arnow's vocals kick in. 'City
Drugs' features Brandon Saller and is a very catchy song. 'Diary' is a
ballad with a nice mixture of piano and mellow guitar sounds and beautiful
vocals, a song you will find yourself playing over and over again.
'A Little Honesty' is the song that sticks out the most on this album
and is by far the best track on the album with its acoustic guitar and
main sing a long lyrics of "Baby, don't lead me on"
Overall this album is not going to make the band the biggest band in
the world but the album is stunning and will put the band in the right
direction.
