Sometimenever - VS Time And OpportunitySometimenever - VS Time And Opportunity

Cambridgeshire quintet Sometimenever have been around for about four years now and have just got around to releasing their debut album 'Vs Time And Opportunity'

The album opens up with 'Teeth I Am' which is an instrumental track with a few spoken words over the top and random sounds that you would hear in a movie, the drumming is stunning and runs for the course of the track. 'Mr Parks Hand' see's Adam Powell's vocals come in from the start and the stand out drumming is clearly heard throughout the track and things get heavier as the track goes on. 'She Pronoun, used In Place Of It Referring To A Vessel Personified' is one long random track name, the song its self features a lot of things going on at once but everything seems to fit in well. 'Graduation Day' is a really mellow track but once again the instrumental work is so spot on and the vocals fit in perfectly. 'All My Favourite People Are So Very Uncool' is quite a fast pop-punk track that is extremely catchy and led by some outstanding guitar work.

Towards the end of the album we are treated to 'Paper Bags' which is a really laid back acoustic song, it’s not the best song on the album but it gives you a nice break from the bands normal sound. 'Silence' is quite a strange sounding song and is far from being silent and features some strange spaced out sounds that really grate on me. 'Rule Seventy Four, fight Like A Champion' is one of my favourite tracks and sees things pick up again and the band end up chanting along "We never give up on what we set our hearts on' repeatedly leaving the lyrics spinning around in your own head. The album finishes with 'Make Up Hair Ties' the song is full of energy and finishes the album nicely.

Sometimenever sound a lot different from most of the bands that are around these days, they have an experimental edge mixed with hardcore and punk. Each song features a lot going on at once but the production is so good that everything fits in so well. So if you want to listen to something slightly different check out Sometimenever.
