Sohodolls are pretty new to me but seem like an exceedingly hard working
band with a tour booked from the start of September running right until
the end of October stopping off at most of the toilet sized venues across
the UK with the start and finish show both being in London but at totally
different venues. Anyway the band have just finished recording their debut
album 'Ribbed music For The Numb Generation' and are releasing their new
single 'Right And Right Again’ just before the album comes out.
'Right And Right Again' is a mixture of indie rock and electro beats,
the song is pretty easy to get into with Maya Von Doll's vocals sounding
perfect over the sound of electro syths and is the kind of song that will
have a lot of people getting their groove on the dance floor. The single
also features a couple of remixes to bring the single up to three tracks
but they sound like the kind of thing you would hear at a rave where you
hear a song for 30 minutes that has no variety and the same beat running
through the whole song but the only difference being the remix is just
5 minutes long even though it feels like 30 minutes.
Having only heard the one song by the Sohodolls I think they are a pretty
interesting new band and good things could be in store for them if their
debut album 'Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation' features more songs
of this quality.
4/5
