Korn have been busy for the past 12 months working with producer Atticus
Ross on their forthcoming 'Untitled' eight studio album which will finally
be released towards the end of July. A week before the release of the
album, Korn will be releasing their brand new single titled 'Evolution'
which Korn previewed to their army of myspace fans earlier this year.
The song is about us as a human race, and how we have not evolved since
monkeys, and to be fair it’s a stunning single and in my opinion
one of the strongest songs Korn have released in years.
'Evolution' is such a strong song and follows on nicely from material
from the bands previous album 'See You On The Other' yet still reminds
me of earlier Korn material as well. The song is extremely catchy yet
still maintains the heaviness Korn are known for, you can tell this is
Korn from the start of the song and when Jonathon Davis' vocals kick in,
everything just gets better. The song is very radio friendly and I’m
sure after just a couple of listens you will have the following lyrics
going around your head "And I, I do not dare deny the basic beast
inside; it's right here, it's controlling my mind! And why do I deserve
to die? I'm dominated by this animal that's locked up inside!" for
days to come.
Its good to see Korn are back on form with Jonathon Davis' vocals sounding
better than ever and the guitars reminding me of classic Korn. I personally
can’t wait to hear the bands forthcoming untitled album because
if 'Evolution' is anything to go by it’s going to be worth the wait.
5/5
