According to just about everyone, Kate Nash is the next big thing. A nineteen
year old singer song writer from London who found her fame through MySpace.
Unfortunately in my opinion, just like her fellow MySpace superstar Lily
Allen, I think she's shit. Basically.
Trying to be The Streets with an acoustic guitar, she tells things how
they are and with an irritating London accent, speaks about utter bollocks
and tries to make arty lyrics, stopping now and again to slag someone
off or swear. There's no talent in that. It's like reading a Noddy book
while repeating four chords.
But that's just me, everyone else loves her.
This single, Foundations, is about a relationship on the rocks. Little
violin anyone? Anyway, it's upbeat and cheery despite the subject matter,
and if I wasn't blinded by my hatred for this talentless waste of sound,
I might begin to enjoy it, and apparently it's heading to number one in
the charts.
But no, it's not exciting. Jack Penate does it better.
