Circa Survive - On Letting GoCirca Survive - On Letting Go

Philadelphia's Circa Survive are back on the music scene with their second studio album 'On Letting Go' and the band have put their all into this album from the stunning cd booklet artwork to the overall sound of the album, everything has been thought out well.

With 'On Letting Go', the band have moved on from their debut album 'Juturna' and gone for an even bigger progressive rock sound that is totally lead by frontman Anthony Green's stunningly strong vocals which is backed up nicely with Colin Frangicetto and Brandan Ekstrom's progressive guitar work which can’t be faulted.

The album opening track 'Living Together' starts off with some huge guitar riffs and Anthony Green's vocals shortly come in, the drumming on the song is more noticeable than before and there are some good bass lines, everything on this song seems to fit in perfectly giving the band a really tight sound where everything seems to work so well.

Steve Clifford’s drumming really starts to shine on 'In The Morning and Amazing' where the song opens up with constant drumming and when everything else kicks in, the drumming still sticks out and the overall song just sounds breathtaking.

I could carry on commenting about every song on the album but I’m not going to because every song sounds as huge and as well put together as the last and you seriously need to listen to this album yourself to understand what I mean.

When Anthony Green left Saosin back in early 2004, many people thought it was a bad decision as Saosin were a rising band and are now pretty big, but I personally think he made the right decision as Circa Survive are a quality band and 'On Letting Go' is an album that can’t be faulted and will hopefully bring big things to Circa Survive.
