Here we have Wednesday 13's favourite touring buddies, Finish gothic glam
rockers the 69 Eyes who have just emerged from the studio and are ready
to release their ninth studio album at the end of June. To help promote
the album, the band is releasing 'Perfect Skin' as their lead single to
the album.
'Perfect Skin' is a tongue-in-cheek anthem about Hollywood's obsession
with size zero blondes and even name-drops a few of the media grabbing
American A list celebs. 'Perfect Skin' has a dark, toned down feeling
about it and vocalist Jyrki sounds too similar to Peter Steele of Type
O Negative for my liking but the song is slightly saved by the catchy
vibe of the song and the backing vocals.
The 69 Eyes are a talented band who know how to produce good music but
I personally find Jyrki's vocals hard to get into, even after listening
to the song on repeat. But I’m sure the bands fans will love their
new music and it won’t be long before you see them on tour with
Wednesday 13 again.
