Bowling For Soup are a band that most people admire and love mainly for
the fact that they are a geeky pop-punk band who are out to have fun and
don’t take themselves to seriously. The band have finally come out
of the closet, okay, well they haven’t quite but they are ready to
release their latest single 'I’m Gay' which is taken from the bands
ninth studio album 'The Great Burrito Extortion Case'.
'Im Gay' is one of the most interesting tracks on the album, partly to
do with the title and also the massive chant along chorus of 'I'm Gay'
which I can see going down a treat when the band play the Download festival
in just under two weeks. The song is actually quite interesting due to
the sudden change of music which goes from fast to slow and also the outro
chant of "la-la-la, la-la-la" which randomly comes out of no
where.
The cd version of 'Im Gay' comes with an added bonus and that’s
the bands previous download only single of 'London Bridge' which is Bowling
For Soups rap metal sounding version of the Fergie smash hit.
Overall 'I’m Gay' is great song that’s already going down
a treat at Bowling For Soup gigs and is sure to stick in the heads of
everyone who hears the song whether they like it or not.
4/5
