The Chicago four piece Rise Against have just completed an eight date sold
out tour of the UK and to coincide with the end of the tour, the band are
releasing 'Prayer Of The Refugee' as a download only single. The song is
taken from the bands critically acclaimed current album 'The Sufferer And
The Witness'.
'Prayer Of The Refugee' is a great skate punk song that seems slightly
mellow to start with but soon perks up when vocalist Tim Mcllrath sings
"don't hold me up now, I can stand my own ground, I don't need your
help now, You will let me down, down down!" on the melodic yet shouting
chorus which seems to make the song.
Rise Against have always been a band who write killer songs that are
instrumentally fast and full of big riffs with powerful vocals and sing
a long moments that soon turn to ‘shout-a-long’ rage and 'Prayer
Of The Refugee' carries on the same formula and is the perfect song to
be released as a single from the bands third album 'The Sufferer And The
Witness'.
