Engerica are a three piece rock band from Essex who play dark, rock music
with twisted humourous lyrics and have toured with many good bands such
as Reuben, Sum 41 and Million Dead. "The Smell" is the band's
new single from their forthcoming debut album "There Are No Happy
Endings" which is released in March 2006.
The single is great. It's full of heavy riffs, thrashy drums and really
random humourous lyrics with one of the most catchy chrouses I have heard
in a while. The b-side to the single "A Cure For Living" sounds
a bit more serious than "The Smell" with its mellow start, followed
up with screamo-style lyrics that still manage to be addictive.
If the band's debut album is full of more songs as good as or better
than this single, I think Engerica could be pretty big by the end of 2006.
4/5
