Brooklyn five-piece The Hold Steady are a great band who play quality rock
and roll that’s made fun with Craig Finn's lyrical wit and wisdom.
When I first heard the bands debut UK single 'Chips Ahoy!' I was hooked
due to Craig Finn's unique vocals and the random story the song told. The
band are now ready to release their second single in the UK with 'Stuck
Between Stations' which is the opening track to the bands debut album 'Boys
And Girls In America'.
'Stuck Between Stations' is one of the best songs on the bands current
album and is a song about girls and boys in America and tells a story
of doom of how they have sad times together featuring times of being drunk
and death and also addresses the suicide of poet John Berryman. The song
is driven by mellow guitar playing and keyboard and has some good guitar
riffs thrown in towards the end.
The Hold Steady are a band who wont appeal to everyone but they are a
fun band who are making a living out of playing the same style of music
as they grew up listening to. 'Stuck Between Stations' is a good song
that is definitely worth checking out.
