Taking Back Sunday – Tidal Wave

Taking Back Sunday have just announced that they will release their seventh studio album ‘Tidal Wave’ on Hopeless Records in September and to help raise awareness of the forthcoming album the band have just released the title track from the album as a single.

‘Tidal Wave’ comes as a massive surprise, firstly because it is the first new taking Back Sunday song in a couple of years and secondly because it sounds nothing like what you would expect from Taking Back Sunday as the post-hardcore sound you have come to love from the band is nowhere in sight and instead the song comes charging at you for just under 3minutes in a big chant-a-long punk rock way, think Green Day think the Ramones think The Dropkick Murphys and before pressing play you will have some idea of what to expect from ‘Tidal Wave’.

On the back of the release of the ‘Tidal Wave’ single I have a feeling that the forthcoming Taking Back Sunday album is going to be their most diverse one yet and you have to give the band respect from having the balls to change their sound from time to time and not stick to the same old formula, welcome to the fast pop-punk world guys it suits you.
