Sum 41 – Fake My Own Death
Sum 41 – Fake My Own Death

Back in April Sum 41 signed to Hopeless Records and announced that their long awaited sixth studio album ’13 Voices’ is coming along well and due for release on the 7th October and now a couple of months later Sum 41 are back with their first new song in 5 years ‘Fake My Own Death’ which happens to be the first song to be taken from ’13 Voices’.

‘Fake My Own Death’ could easily be the most important song of Deryck Whibley’s career considering the rollercoaster ride his life has been on over the past couple of years where at one point he wasn’t sure if he would be able to walk let alone, write, record and preform new music again. Musically the song sounds like a cross between the bands ‘Chuck’ and ‘Screaming Bloody Murder’ era of albums and is a full on fast paced punk rock assault with edgy vocals, outstanding riffs and an aggressive edge whilst keeping true to themselves.

Sum 41 may have been away from the music industry for a good 5 years but they are now back bigger and better than ever with ‘Fake My Own Death’ which sets the pace for the forthcoming album in a solid way.

5/5
