Once iconic and formidable metal act Drowning pool are still kicking out the albums, but I can't say as many people are as aware as they used to be. Incase you've been living under a rock the band are responsible for such must use nightclub tracks "Bodies", "Sinner", "All over Me", "Step Up", "Hate" and the list goes on. The main problem is that, due to many reasons their vocalist keeps changing and with it a new style comes. Southern rock, dark metal, heavy rock, they never seem to settle.
This marks new vocalist Jason second album with the band and I must say I went into it not expecting a lot from it due to the fact that I haven't been a fan of much material since second album Desensitised. And to sum up simply this one hasn't even come close to bringing me back as a fan. Instrumentally I can't really pinpoint many faults it's crunchy, heavy and generally pleasing to ones ears. We turn our attention to the lyrics and it is here where we locate the source of the sour ingredient; I don't mean to be horrible but they really sound like stereotypical cheesy rebellious angsty teenage journal ramblings, it works on the "infectious" route on like 1 song, the rest... I just can't go into it, it makes me cringe.
I'm not going to say anymore about it. That's my input. It should have been a lot better than this and what was a powerful reputation hanging in the balance, has now fallen. And I can't see them earning it back now.
