Breed 77 are just about to release their third single 'Look At Me Now' from
their current album In My Blood (En Mi Sangre). 'Look At Me Now' is a bit
of a departure from the bands well known heavy sound but also quite similar
to the bands top 40 hit, 'The River' with the fact that it is an epic mellow
song. The song starts off with really mellow yet simple piano chords and
more emotional depressing vocals, the guitars do kick in but they are pretty
mellow as well as carrying on with the slow pace of the song.
The single also comes with three different b-sides and the first one
being a heavy metal version of The Cranberries classic track 'Zombie'
which works really well with its heavy guitars and outstanding thundering
drumming with the vocals sitting perfectly over the track. The second
b-side is the Spanish named and sung 'La Ultima Hora’ which despite
not being able to understand the lyrics the vocals are quite good and
the song has some huge guitar riffs and quite a catchy chorus. The third
b-side is 'Petroleo' which is another all Spanish sung song and a taster
from the bands upcoming all Spanish sung album 'Un Encuentro' which shows
Breed 77 are an interesting band no matter what language they sing in.
'Look At Me Now' seems like a strange release for a heavy metal band
but is quite a radio friendly song and could become another hit for the
band. The b sides on the single are great and give a good chance to have
a taster of a few songs from Breed 77's new album before it’s released
at the start of May.
