Funeral For A Friend - You've Got A Bad Case Of The ReligionsFuneral For A Friend – You’ve Got A Bad Case Of The Religions

Since storming the music scene in 2001 Funeral For A Friend have had one hell of a roller coaster ride which has seen them become one of the most talked about British post-hardcore bands who pretty much made it to the top and enjoyed years of major success which saw them play various sold out headline tours as well as appearing at so many festivals across the world including secret slots at some across the years but things haven’t always been great for Funeral For A Friend as over the years they have gone through various line up changes, they have had a lot of mixed reviews in the press and have also seen a decline in their fan base which has lead to start replaying all the toilet sized venues that they originally started playing when they came on the scene all those years ago but you have to hand it to them as they have always stayed true to themselves and kept a healthy routine of releasing a new album every couple of years.

Funeral For A Friend are set to release their seventh studio album ‘Chapter And Verse’ through Distiller Records on the 19th January and they have just unleashed their brand new single ‘You’ve Got A Bad Case Of The Religions’ which happens to be the lead single taken from their forthcoming album and if it is anything to go by then their seventh studio album could shape up the be as big and heavy as their last studio album ‘Conduit’ which totally rocked.

‘You’ve Got A Bad Case Of The Religions’ is a fantastic song which is super fast and majorly heavy and what makes the song rock and stand out from the Funeral For A Friend back catalogue is the production work as things sound a lot more raw and tinny here instead of the over the top super polished production we are used to from bands these days and I feel that Funeral For A Friend have never sounded better as a band and vocally Matthew Davies-Kreye’s lets some much needed steam off in such an infectious yet heavy way.

It’s safe to say that Funeral For A Friend are back bigger and better than ever and they mean business and I can already sense that ‘Chapter And Verse’ is going to be one of the first big album releases of 2015 and the band already have a tour in place to coincide it which means 2015 is going to be busy yet fun year for this talented Welsh band.
