Nuclear Blast Entertainment recently announced
the signing of Devilment a new six piece band
made up of Dani Filth (Vocals), Daniel Finch (Guitar
And Samples), Colin Parks (Guitar), Nick Johnson
(Bass), Aaron Boast (Drums) and Lauren Francis
(Keyboards And Vocals), the band are set to release
their debut album ‘The Great And Secret
Show’ this autumn and are also heading out
on the road supporting Lacuna Coil and Motionless
In White on their co-headline UK tour and in the
meantime have just unleashed their debut single
‘Mother Kali’.
Now I have never been a fan of Cradle Of Filth
so was slightly dreading checking out Devilment
but there is something about the band and their
new single ‘Mother Kali’ which is
quite pleasing on the ears, the song flows for
just under 4minutes and is a beastly melodic number
whilst the band also bring the metal to the table
and unleash some massive riffs and drum beats.
After a few listens of the song you will find
yourself singing “Mother Kali, Kala Maa,
cover partly, Shiva’s starred peninsula,
Mother Kali, Kali Maa, oh lover darkly start this
last evisceration”.
If horror-metal is your thing then you really
need to check Devilment out as on the back of
this one song they really do show potential and
they with the backing of Nuclear Blast Entertainment
they clearly know that they have signed a gem
of a band here, give ‘Mother Kali’
a listen and see if you become an converted Devilment
fan quicker than I did.
