Buckcherry are not ones to follow rules and regulations
and do things by the book as the band are well
known for their partying ways, bad ass attitude,
explosive live shows, melodic rock and witty lyrics
and now the band have announced the release of
their new 6 track EP which is simply titled ‘Fuck’
and yes you have guessed right all 6 tracks which
make up the EP have the word fuck in the title
as Buckcherry go all out to get the record for
the most fuck’s in a release.
The ‘Fuck’ EP is being released through
Buckcherry’s own F-bomb Records on the 18th
August and things open up with ‘Somebody
Fucked With Me’ a song which has a tasty
opening riffs before Josh Todd goes on a rant
shouting out “Fuck the system, fuck the
lawyers, fuck the sequel, fuck um all, fuck religion,
fuck the country the politician, fuck um all”
and as the song flows Josh Todd continues a his
saying a big fuck you to pretty much everything
he has come across in his life.
‘Say Fuck It’ see’s Buckcherry
have their own take on the over played Icona Pop
song ‘I Don’t Care’ but with
changing the title and lyrics to ‘Say fuck
It’, both the original and the Buckcherry
version of the song are irritatingly catchy, buckcherry
do manage to make the song fun but it is defiantly
a song which is going to be short lived and will
get on your nerves after a few listens.
‘Motherfucker’ is a big melodic rock
anthem sounding so much like many songs from the
already impressive Buckcherry back catalogue,
when the chorus kicks in you seriously know about
it as Josh Todd goes out all speedy with his lead
vocals whilst slipping in the word fuck a couple
of times for good measures.
When it gets going ‘I Don’t Give A
Fuck’ is a fast flowing groovy number and
it is sure going to be a hit on the live circuit
with thousands of fans in the pit flipping the
bird high in the air whilst chanting “I
don’t give a fuck” along with Josh
Todd.
‘It’s A Fucking Disaster’ starts
off as more of a slow paced serious number and
then at the 1minute mark the song fully kicks
in as the band go down the fast paced melodic
route which they are known all too well for.
The EP closes with ‘Fist Fuck’ a song
which oozes in punk rock attitude, its fast and
furious and a massive chant-a-long anthem, the
chorus of “This is what you wanted, this
is what you needed, this is a fist fuck”
is executed so fast as the band unleash their
hidden punk genes and finish a solid EP with the
best track on offer.
Currently Buckcherry are showing themselves to
be workaholics as they released their sixth studio
album 18 months ago, their greatest hits album
only a couple of months ago and now they are back
with ‘Fuck’ which happens to be the
most controversial release of their already impressive
career and I can see the songs doing down a storm
when they head out on the Rockstar Energy Drink
Uproar Festival Tour across America over the next
month or so.
