Purple are a grunge rock trio from Texas who are
set to release their debut single ‘Wallflower’
in the UK any day now and the band sound like
a crazy mix of Weezer meets Hole meets Mudhoney
with their own bonkers gritty twist added on for
good measures.
‘Wallflowers’ is pays homage to the
alternative music scene of the late 90’s
where bands like Weezer, Hole, Mudhoney, Nirvana,
Therapy?, Helmet and many others were riding high.
Vocalist and drummer Taylor Busby make s a solid
impression from the start with her banging drum
beats and shout-a-long gruff vocals whist Taylor
Busby keeps things real with his gritty guitar
playing and drawn out backing vocals whilst Tyler
Smith lays down some solid stand out basslines.
It is safe to say that Purple like to make an
noise and they are extremely good at doing so
as ‘Wallflower’ is a fun little number
full of angst and alternative goodness.
