Bad Cop/ Bad Cop - Boss LadyBad Cop/ Bad Cop – Boss Lady

The all female Bad Cop/ Bad Cop have been on the music scene since 2011 and after playing a show in San Francisco in 2013 Fat Mike approached the girls after being in the audience watching the show and instantly signed them up and here we are now in April 2014 and Bad Cop/ Bad Cop have just released their debut EP ‘Boss Lady’ on Fat Mike’s Fat Wreck Chords.

‘Boss Lady’ features 4 tracks and runs for just over 10minutes and is quite a rocking punk-rock EP which is full of catchy moments and lots of attitude especially throughout their lyrics epically when they scream out “Shove your labels, we’ll flip your table, and we won’t apologize for causing a scene” during ‘My Life’.

The EP opens with the repetitively anthemic ‘My Life’ which features such a sing-a-long chorus of “it’s my life, it’s my life”, instrumentally these girls seriously know how to play as they lay down some fast paced riffs and big drum beats through the short running of the song. ‘Cucumber’ follows on nicely with some massive drum beats which are really hard hitting and in your face. ‘Rodeo’ is the most accessible song on the EP it flows so well, is full of melody and really shines from start to finish. ‘Asshole’ closes the EP and is a short track running for just over 1minute and the song is lyrically full of hate and anger as the band hit out at someone with a shit hair cut who has been fucking a friend.

Fat Mike made a good decision signing up Bad Cop/ Bad Cop as the band clearly have the sound that suits the Fat Wreck Chords label, their new EP ‘Boss Lady’ is a good release but it doesn’t bring anything that we haven’t heard before to an already exciting punk rock scene.
