I have liked The Zico Chain since 2006 when they released their self titled
debut six track ep which got a 4 out of 5 rating here at Alternative Vision.
Ever since the release of that EP the Zico Chain have found themselves on
tour with some huge bands such as Alkaline Trio, Wolfmother, Thursday, Disturbed,
Cave In and many other well known bands in the alternative music scene.
The Zico Chain have also been busy writing and recording for their debut
full length album which will be released towards the end of 2007 but in
the mean time the band are releasing their debut single 'Where Would You
Rather Be?' which is a taster for their up and coming album.
'Where Would You Rather Be?' is just over three minutes of pure fast
guitar driven noisy rock. The drumming is constant, the guitars are heavy
and Chris Gilthero's thrashy rock vocals work well with the music.
Overall The Zico Chain surly know how to make a noise and rock at the
same time, they also have balls for doing what they want to do and not
crashing into the in scene like most bands do these days. This single
is a great taster from what’s sure to be an album worth waiting
for.
4/5
