Adrenaline Mob formed back in 2011 and were instantly
regarding as a supergroup due to the fact that
the members of the band have enjoyed massive success
in various other bands, you have Russell Allen
(Symphony X) on vocals, Mike Orlando on guitar,
John Moyar (Disturbed) on bass and A J Pero (Twisted
Sister) on drums and if you also look at the bands
past members you had Rich Ward and Paul Di Leo
from Fozzy and also Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre
in the band which tells me from the birth of the
band Adrenaline Mob have been on the lookout for
big things.
Ever since I saw the videos for ‘Feel The
Adrenaline’ and ‘Come On Get Up’
I have been counting down the days for the release
of the second Adrenaline Mob album ‘Men
Of Honor’ as both songs blew me away with
their big in your face chant-a-long vocals and
massive technical instrumental work and after
listening to the album a few times over it is
safe to say that it has been worth the wait as
this 11track 52minute running album is mostly
all killer with a little bit of filler.
The album explodes with mayhem with the banging
‘Mob Is Back’ with it’s crazy
instrumental opening and crazy effects for the
first minute but as soon J Pero comes in with
his banging drum beats and Mike Orlando lays down
his chunky guitar riffs and Russell Allen comes
in with his strong sounding loud and clear vocals
you just know that the next 52 minutes are going
to be a good listen especially as the ’Mob
Is Back’ takes you on a high energy stadium
rock journey.
‘Come On Get Up’ features some real
meaty riffs running throughout and some truly
mouth watering solos. The song really flows with
pure heaviness but at the same time when the chorus
kicks in things become melodic and that is exactly
what makes Adrenaline Mob such an accessible band
the fact that they have brought the perfect mix
of heaviness and melodicness to the table and
used it to their advantage to create songs that
not only are the head bangers of the metal generation
going to love but so are the radio worshippers
who happen to stumble across the band.
‘Dearly Departed’ is quite a serious
sounding middle of the road song which sounds
great but doesn’t stand out as much as other
songs on the album. ‘Behind These Eyes’
see’s the band go down the ballad route
where they come across sounding so similar to
Alter Bridge when they go down the serious route.
‘Let It Go’ Really does so off the
song writing skills of Adrenaline Mob as the song
has so much going on, with the basslines from
John Mayor standing out in such a positive to
the big explosive chorus. ‘Feel The Adrenaline’
was one of the songs which originally got me interested
in Adrenaline Mob and all you need to do is listen
to a minute of the song to understand why as it’s
a big fist in the air chant-a-long rock n’
roll anthem.
The album title track ‘Men Of Honor’
see’s things tone down again and leaves
you thinking that the band are going to unleash
another ballad but after 25 seconds of teasing
Mike Orlando comes in with some chunky riffs which
prompts the rest of the band to grace the airwaves
doing what they do best and truly rocking out.
‘House Of Lies’ takes a couple of
listens to fully appreciate as it is the oddest
sounding track on the album hut after listening
to the song a couple of times over it will be
up their alongside the best tracks on the album.
It is however the album closer ‘Fallin To
Pieces’ which stands out the most as there
is just something special about the song as everything
from the lyrics, the pace, the vocals just fit
together perfectly like a jigsaw.
If you are in need of a new solid sounding metal
album then I would look no further than Adrenaline
Mob’s ‘Men Of Honor’ as the
album is extremely solid sounding where each and
every member of the band shines throughout as
they come together to create a massive 11 track
stadium rock album.
